Friday, June 1 - Tuesday, June 5 - Meditation and Mandalas: Doorways to the Soul. With artist Jane Fawkes at the Hermitage on Denman Island.
Mandalas are used for healing and transformation in North American, Hindu, and Tibetan Buddhist cultures and, more recently, in psychotherapy. When an image from the psyche is created while in a meditative state, integration, spiritual connection and physical healing can result. Instruction in both sitting and walking meditation will be given. There will be time for individual work on mandalas & group question periods.
A list of art supplies to bring will be sent to participants. Tuition and accommodation for this retreat are by donation.

Sunday, January 8, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The Wise Pursuit of Happiness, meditation and talk for the Victoria Insight Meditation Society. Held at the Lynn Wylie Yoga Studio at Bay and Shakespeare in Victoria. The Buddha's teachings invite us to investigate for ourselves what brings happiness and what brings suffering in our lives. By undertaking a basic framework of ethical behaviour, as outlined in the five precepts, we lay the foundation for happiness and non-remorse. In this short Dharma talk, Margo will draw on the writing of Thanissaro Bhikkhu to explore two aspects of the Noble Eightfold Path - Wise View and Wise Concentration.
