Liberating Our Gifts Through Story
Stories remind us of where we've been and what we've learned along the way. Stories about giving naturally call up our own experiences of learning how to share. Each tale in this workshop renews our sense of what is possible, and at the same time inspires us to take the next step.
Since
2003 Margo has been gathering world tales of generosity. In her work
with the Fetzer Institute in Kalamazoo, Michigan, she has been putting
these tales to work. With medical faculty in Indianapolis,
philanthropists and educators in Michigan and social justice activists
in Mississippi, Margo and colleagues draw on the distilled wisdom of
world traditions to build community and restore the heart. Stories
have much to teach us about learning how to give. They also remind us
of the gifts we have to share with the world.
In this half-day workshop participants will have a chance to listen to
stories from places as diverse as Haiti, India, Burma and Zimbabwe.
