Tending the Spark: Mindfulness and the Creative Life

Mindfulness is present-moment awareness, oriented towards appreciation and interest. The practice of mindfulness strengthens and develops an attitude of friendliness and openness. This can assist us in a number of ways as we consider what it means to live creatively.

·      establishing a practice of meditation or mindfulness as part of “the work before the work”

·      self-understanding: knowing what conditions support one’s own creative practice

·      having an attitude of exploration and curiosity

·      celebrating and nurturing gratitude for sense perception

·      recognizing the creative aspect of everyday life

·      releasing the identification with the idea of ourselves as creators

·      enjoying the creative process itself, rather than being concerned about a result

Note: These classes will not be recorded, but participants will receive a newsletter with notes and links to other resources.
Registration fee: $120 - $150, sliding scale. To reserve your place, please submit the form below and send an e-transfer by mid-February to margostoryteller@gmail.com.
