Insight Meditation: A Path of Discovery


In this eight-week course, we will take a deep dive into the foundations of mindfulness practice. The aim of this series is to offer support for participants to establish (or re-invigorate) a daily practice of mindfulness meditation. A companion goal is to build community by exploring together how we can integrate the Buddhist teachings of wisdom and compassion into our daily lives.

Class format:
7:00 - 7:30 - sit and guidance
7:30 - 7:40 - silent walking or movement
7:45 - 8:30 - talk and discussion

Week One - The Wings of Awakening: Wisdom and Compassion
Week Two - Mindfulness of the Body
Week Three - Working with Desire
Week Four - Mindfulness of Feeling Tones
Week Five - Working with Fear
Week Six - Mindfulness of the Mind
Week Seven - Working with Doubt
Week Eight - Living in the World and the Factors of Awakening

Registration fee: Sliding scale $80 - $120 or by donation. If you’re not able to sign up for the whole series, you are welcome to drop in. Drop-ins are $15 - $20 or by donation.
